Hiya, I’m Claire and I’m the (Claire) Bear behind Bear’s Necessiteas.
People joke about “living the dream” but for me, being a baker is the dream. So when I had the chance to leave corporate life at the end of 2024, I figured it was time to go for it. I swapped spreadsheets for spatulas and now I run my own little home bakery, ready to send out treats to fabulous customers like you. From afternoon teas to cookies and brownies - if you want it, I’ll bake it (and probably sing while doing it – sorry, Mr Bear!).
Why Bear’s Necessiteas?
The ‘Bear’ part’s easy - that’s what people call me. And the ‘Necessiteas’? Well, if all goes to plan, one day I’ll be hosting themed pop-up afternoon teas all around the UK. I wanted a name that hinted at that dream, and when The Bare Necessities from Disney popped into my head, it just clicked and Bear’s Necessiteas was born.
Anyway, that’s me – baking, dreaming, probably covered in flour and lowkey thinking my scozzas deserve their own fan club. Now let me bake you something that’ll make your day 87% better (scientifically unproven).

Every Bear needs a solid support system, and this one comes with a steering wheel and a glorious beard. Mr Bear handles the driving, the deep chats, the emergency snack runs, and the occasional late-night “what if we did…” brainstorm. He taste-tests like a pro and always knows when I need a hug or a strong brew (or both).
Basically, he’s the engine under this biscuit-fuelled machine – and I couldn’t do it without him.

At 16, Jack’s taken on the vital role of Bear’s Necessiteas’ marketing executive (his words, not mine). He keeps my social media posts just the right side of cringe, stars in the odd video, and comes up with new flavour combos – from genius to... questionable (crispy chicken with cookies & cream, anyone?).
He’s a natural at drumming up customers at college and still mourns the days when he could lick the bowl without judgement.
Basically: creative, confident, and absolutely essential to the Bear crew.

Fresh from uni and back in the Bear Den, Mel might not be part of the everyday baking chaos (yet), but she's been involved from the early days – especially when it came to testing packaging, courier performance, and, of course, brownie quality (a very serious role).
These days she’s more of an occasional helper and full-time taste tester, always ready to pitch in when things get busy or when there’s something new to nibble.
